(Published on 07.04.2022) At the Consortia Assembly on 1 April 2022, the speakers of the consortia unanimously elected a new chair for the association body. Prof. Dr. Andreas Witt (Text+) replaces Prof. Dr. Christoph Steinbeck (NFDI4Chem) as chairman, Dr. Dirk von Suchodoletz (DataPLANT) was re-elected as deputy chairman.
During the first election for the two positions last July, the consortium meeting already agreed on a new election at the time when the consortia of the second funding round are integrated into the association. For this reason, elections were held again at the April meeting.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Christoph Steinbeck for his commitment and the good cooperation. At the same time, we wish Prof. Dr. Andreas Witt as well as Dr. Dirk von Suchodoletz much success in carrying out their duties.
What does the Consortia Assembly do?
The Consortia Assembly determines the content-related and technical principles for the work of the consortia. On the one hand, it submits decision proposals to the Scientific Senate on cross-consortium standards; on the other hand, the Consortia Assembly defines the framework conditions for implementing the standards determined by the Scientific Senate in the consortia.
It is thus a central coordinating body for coordination between the various consortia. It consists of the speakers of the consortia according to the statutes. These are legally dependent departments of the NFDI Association that reflect the DFG-funded consortia in the association.
