The free Smart Lab offerings from NFDI4Chem demonstrate how research data can be seamlessly digitised in the laboratory. Measurement data such as NMR spectra can be transferred directly from the device to the Chemotion ELN electronic laboratory notebook. There, it is documented in a structured manner, linked to experiments and made available for further processing.
For analysis and visualisation, the spectra can be opened and evaluated directly with NMRium – without media discontinuity and without time-consuming manual intermediate steps. Researchers can check and interpret data and record their results directly in the context of the experimental documentation.
When the data is ready for transfer or archiving, it can be easily transferred from the lab notebook to the Chemotion Repository or alternatively saved in nmrXiv. This creates a continuous digital data flow using open-source tools: from measurement and analysis to long-term storage and publication.
