(Published on 21.11.2023) In the third Base4NFDI call for proposals, the IAM4NFDI application for funding as a basic service was approved by the NFDI Consortia Assembly for a two-year integration phase. IAM4NFDI is thus the first service to enter the second phase after its initialisation phase.
IAM4NFDI connects and expands current and existing identity and access management systems with the aim of accessing digital resources NFDI-wide and beyond. This basic service is to become a decentralised, federated IAM (identity and access management) for around 5000 institutions.
The integration phase centres on the (further) development of the service, its testing and introduction as a prototype. In order to ensure the connection of as many use cases as possible within NFDI, the service will be harmonised with existing solutions.
